Anatomical bit for comfort in the horse's mouth
The basis of the WH Ultra bits is the shape of the mouthpiece. This is based on the tried and tested, popular KK Ultra bits. The centerpiece of the KK models has been shortened so that the joints do not lie directly over the lower bars. In addition, the centerpiece has been tilted forward by 45° so that the joints no longer lie vertically on the tongue, but flat. These features not only lead to significantly more comfort in the horse's mouth, but also ensure improved action compared to conventional double jointed bits. When used correctly, a trusting contact can be developed.

The rolling element
The central point, in the truest sense of the word, of our WH Ultra bits is a rolling element that has been integrated into the lozenge. This roller moves over the tongue and thus focuses the horse's concentration on the bit. This encourages mouth activity and increases attention. Chewing often leads to a relaxed jaw muscle culture and topline, which also has a positive effect on the horse's harmony and suppleness.
Double jointed bits for sensitive horses
The double jointed WH Ultra loose ring snaffle is an ideal bit for everyday use and is suitable for many levels of training and disciplines. The WH Ultra bit is also a good choice for young horses in training to develop and promote a trusting contact. As with all double jointed bits, the WH Ultra models distribute the pressure of the rein aid over a larger area (in contrast to single jointed bits, where the pressure is greater at the edges of the tongue, while the center of the tongue is relieved). SENSOGAN makes WH Ultra bits tasty
The tried and tested SENSOGAN alloy from SPRENGER consists of copper, manganese, and zinc and is therefore nickel-free. This means that the bit is not only particularly well tolerated, but also retains the positive oxidation properties of copper. This provides a sweet taste and stimulates the flow of saliva, which in turn leads to increased chewing activity that relaxes the muscles in the head and neck area. You can recognize all our SENSOGAN bits by the black ring on the sides of the mouthpiece, because not every gold-coloured bit has the chewing-promoting properties! Other alloys prevent the oxidation properties of copper and only have a golden color. WH Ultra Soft - not just for softies
The WH Ultra Soft bit consists of the same basic components as the WH Ultra, i.e. the anatomical shape of the KK Ultra bits with the corresponding advantages. The SENSOGAN material has of course also been used in its manufacture. However, instead of the rolling element in the centerpiece, the olive is covered with soft, hard-wearing rubber. This can have a relaxing effect on nervous or restless horses. This bit can also often help with teeth grinding.

Eggbut bit, D-ring or loose ring snaffle?
Not only the mouthpiece, but also the right side piece is crucial when choosing a bit. In the article 'Which side piece should I choose', the individual side pieces and their effect are explained in detail. Our WH Ultra bits are therefore not only available as loose ring snaffles, but also as eggbut bits or D-ring snaffles. With these two models, the side pieces should lie directly against the corner of the mouth in order to be able to optimally develop their lateral limiting effect. The fixed side pieces also ensure a quiet position in the horse's mouth and at the same time a more direct transmission of the rein aid than with a loose ring snaffle. Eggbut bits are particularly popular for supporting horses when riding turns. With D-ring bits, the side part is even larger and therefore the boundary is clearer and is also often used by show jumpers for the course.
